Ellen Moy has a diverse background in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. She is experienced with general corporate transactions, securities compliance, corporate finance, energy and infrastructure transactions, regulatory compliance, and legislative and policy work.
Ellen advises clients involved in the cannabis industry, including dispensaries, manufacturers, intellectual property holding companies, testing facilities, vendors and service providers, and other ancillary businesses on a variety of corporate transactions including entity formation and governance, capital raising, commercial contracts, and state and local regulatory compliance.
Ellen has extensive experience in the California legislature performing legislative and policy analysis, conducting media and local, state, and national stakeholder outreach, and organizing and leading community events that focus on strategic advocacy of environmental justice, anti-poverty, women’s rights and equality, health, and public safety solutions.
Previously, Ellen practiced at a boutique law firm advising clients on regulatory and transactional matters, including the formation of domestic and offshore investment funds, compliance with securities and commodities laws, management company matters, and marketing and investor relations. She has also worked at the California Public Utilities Commission advising on energy, water, and transportation proceedings, as well as a national environmental organization supporting the development and implementation of policy and legislative initiatives related to green buildings, energy efficiency, and climate change.
