Elizabeth Lance works with clients in the cannabis and hemp industries, including cultivators, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers, and ancillary businesses on a variety of corporate, land use, regulatory, and licensing matters.
Elizabeth advises Greenbridge clients on initial entity structuring and formation, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, employment issues, and day-to-day operational matters. Elizabeth also assists cannabis businesses with the acquisition and leasing of property, drafting and review of transactional agreements, and the protection of intellectual property.
Prior to arriving at Greenbridge, Elizabeth practiced at another well-respected law firm focused on the wine and beverage alcohol industries in its cannabis, corporate, and land-use departments. She worked with California cannabis operators to obtain commercial cannabis permits and licenses; drafted, reviewed, and advised on cannabis contracts; and identified industry-specific taxation issues. She also participated in the development of the California appellations program and consulted with various local jurisdictions in Northern California on the refinement of their cannabis ordinances. Prior to that, Elizabeth worked at a boutique law firm that focused on assisting cannabis businesses transition into the regulated market and provided consultation on local and state cannabis rules and regulations.
Before practicing law for the cannabis industry, Elizabeth worked at a large accounting firm in San Francisco where she advised clients on state and local tax issues involving corporate and franchise taxes, and sales and use tax matters.
