Courtney is a litigator and transactional attorney specializing in criminal defense, civil litigation, and regulatory compliance for the cannabis industry. Her professional experience includes public health policy, with a focus on tobacco, housing, and food and drug regulations; administrative rulemaking and legislative drafting; real estate and foreclosure law; employment law; and small business counseling.
Prior to joining Emerge, Courtney practiced law as a solo attorney in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she worked with prominent local cannabis attorneys to provide legal guidance and business transactional services to the California cannabis industry. During and after law school, she served at the Oregon Health Authority as a policy intern, administrative rulemaker, and contract policy analyst.
Aside from her work in law and public health policy, Courtney has also been active in the local Bay Area food scene and natural health advocacy. She devotes her leisure time to yoga, rock climbing, live music, snowboarding, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
